Mikroe BT Audio 2 Click is an add-on board based on the Microchip BM62 module with BLUETOOTH ® audio stream. The click is a Stereo Audio module, a fully certified dual-mode Bluetooth v5.0 (BDR / EDR / BLE), which can be connected to any wireless audio and voice application. It features a high-resolution, 24-bit, 96kHz audio data format, Bluetooth Low Energy data rate up to 1Mbits / s, and simultaneous connection of two hosts with HFP / A2DP profiles. Other features, such as seamless serial data over a UART interface, make it suitable for applications such as portable speakers and headsets.
BLUETOOTH CLASS 2 RADIO AND DSP PROCESSOR COMBINED:
Microchip RN52 Bluetooth audio module provides high quality audio , in compact form factor (26.0 mm x 13.5 mm x 2.7 mm). The module combines a Bluetooth radio class 2 with an embedded DSP processor, which is controlled and configured via simple ASCII commands.
BT AUDIO CLICK CAN STREAM AUDIO FILES:
What makes this module unique is DSP, or digital signal processor, as it can actually stream audio-it transforms and compresses the radio waves received from your phone or computer into digital data and then transfers it to your speakers or headphones.
QUALITY OF SOUND OVER BLUETOOTH:
The module supports aptX, audio codec for streaming high quality stereo audio over a Bluetooth connection. And the sound quality isn’t something you’ll have to compromise on, because aptX encodes an audio stream of CD quality (16-bit/44.1kHz).
The RN52 module supports HSP / HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, and SPP as well as digital I / O, stereo speaker output, stereo input microphone. The module also supports discovery of iAP profiles to connect the BT Audio click to Apple devices such as iPods, iPhones or MAC computers.
HSP / HFP stands for Hands-Free Profile and Headset Profile for a Bluetooth audio interface on your phone and headset.
Mikroe BT audio 2 click has a 10m range in open space. Indoors the range is smaller but still sufficient to cover a few rooms. With few additional pins, BT Audio click communicates with the target board MCU through the mikroBUS™ UART interfaces. The board will only be using a 3.3V power supply.
