Strengthening Karnataka’s Semiconductor and Electronics Sector through Strategic Partnership
In a significant move to advance the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector in Karnataka, the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership is aimed at enhancing the semiconductor landscape and propelling the growth of the electronics industry within the state.
Boosting Startups, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship
The MoU prioritizes the support of startups, fostering innovation, and encouraging entrepreneurship. Both IESA and KDEM are committed to drawing businesses, including fabrication and OSAT/ATMP units as well as component manufacturers, to establish their operations in Karnataka.
Leveraging Local Expertise and Expanding Regional Influence
The IESA will lend its expertise to the semiconductor and ESDM ecosystems, proposing strategies to invigorate growth in Bengaluru and extend its impact to other areas through KDEM’s ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative.
Collaborative Efforts to Create a Global ESDM Hub
Additionally, the alliance will engage in co-hosting industry events, producing collaborative publications, and building a strong pipeline of companies and investments, all aimed at positioning Karnataka as a leading global hub for ESDM.
